Civil partnership wedding advice
The trend in personalising weddings (and in weddings being more creative and expressive) has been picked up and run with, since the advent of civil partnerships.
We’ve played at civil partnerships since they began and have been warmly received after each one, so we feel we are qualified to dispense civil partnership wedding advice!
The traditional wedding may or may not suit civil partnership weddings – but nobody is bound by tradition here. Civil partnership weddings are breaking new ground in style and content, be it with class, sophistication and good taste, or pastiche, irony and great fun!
There are a lot of specialist websites and leaflets offering civil partnerships weddings advice. The legal stuff is worth reviewing, partly because it’s still a relatively new establishment. As to your ceremony and reception, the best advice can be sought from recently-spliced friends (both gay and straight), and from professionals who have experience in civil partnership weddings. Those professionals would include venue managers, interfaith celebrants, the band, and the caterers.
Prospective civil partners are comfortable requiring the very best of their suppliers and the flexibility and creativity that comes with innovating new traditions and celebrations.
The only civil partnerships wedding advice I would offer is – do what you want! Go for it!
If you like the style, music and presentation of The Oscar Bernhardt Ensemble or Oscar Bernhardt’s Charleston Charlies then we’d be delighted to play at your civil partnership. Our past civil partnership clients are happy to give references. We have been re-booked from and for these celebrations.
